Cinque Terre

We have had an awesome and busy past few weeks. Our friends Cory and Philip came from the States to visit and to travel around Italy. Our first stop was to Cingue Terre, which is a great area on the west coast of Italy. There are 5 small villages built into the cliffs and you hike between them. We had some amazing times!

This first picture is acutally toward the end of our trip. We found that we loved the town of Vernazza the most (the town in the background). You could sit out on the peninsula, drink wine, eat pizza and gelato and watch the boats and the town go by.

We stayed in a great hotel in Manarola. Both rooms had balconies with great views of the town. This is a look from our balcony with Cory's new awesome camera. It was obviously dark out, but the camera was able to pull in all the light. The entire trip we were having picture taking competitions to see who could get the best shot...I think Cory might have a winner here!

This is the same town as the first photo, but we are hiking in from the other direction. One of the great things about Cinque Terre is that you have the option to hike between towns, or you can take a train, but you can't drive. The first day we hiked in from the south end to the middle town, and the second day we took to the train to the farthest north town and hiked back down.

Just a fun picture I took of a little cafe along the trial. It's so classic Italian I love it!

Hiking from the town our hotel is in on day one.

We had a great weekend in the area and we couldn't have had better company!
