On May 1st we had the honor of officially welcoming Courtney to the family...although she's been around a while. Kevin's brother Brian and Courtney were married back in Georgia at the Carl house and it was a beautiful wedding. I would post a picture or two...but we forgot the camera in Italy! Oops.
One of the best parts of the wedding weekend was that Kevin and I both got to go to Atlanta together. Which has not happened since my brother's wedding in September 2008. Brian and Courtney moved the wedding date up so Kevin could attend before going on his deployment. We got to see all of Kevin's family and my parents as well. We also got to visit with friend that we haven't seen in years, and all the newest members of their families. It's crazy seeing all my friends from high school with kids!
As Kevin's deployment gets closer and closer, and after seeing all our family together in one place I am reminded of the importance of family. I am blessed with an amazing family who is always there to support me. Being so far away from home I am also thanksful for my military family. Without this group of amazing wives I would not be able to survive the time away from my "real" family. So, thank you to my family for being so loving and supportive, and thank you to my military family for supporting me when Mom is too far away to hug!
